
Villa Lessing European Prize 2024

On 2 July 2025, the Villa Lessing - Liberale Stiftung Saar awarded the "Villa Lessing European Prize 2024" to graduates of the Europa-Institut at Saarland University.
The prize is awarded annually to students of the sections of law and economics of the Europa-Institut of Saarland University, who deal in their Master's thesis with the developments of law and economics in Europe and in particular with the strengthening of freedom and competition in Europe, European integration on a liberal basis and the strengthening of European civil society. The Europa-Preis was launched in 2010 and is endowed with €1,500. The keynote speech "Current challenges to freedom of the press" was held by Peter Stefan Herbst, Editor-in-chief of the Saarbrücker newspaper.
We would like to congratulate all award winners and especially our alumni Sebastian Koch, Anjela Lu Ching und Catriona Laidlaw for winning the 2024 edition of the Villa Lessing European Prize! A big thank you also to the @villa_lessing for their continuous support and the nice evening!
