Guest Lecture by EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner at the Europa-Institut and Alumni Reunion Celebrating 30 Years of the LL.M. Program

The Europa-Institut welcomed Magnus Brunner, European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, for a guest lecture in Saarbrücken. As a member of the European Commission, his portfolio includes internal security, migration, border management, and the fight against organized crime.
During his visit, Commissioner Brunner addressed current challenges and developments within the European Union. His lecture focused on key European issues arising from recent political and societal developments. Following the lecture, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in a lively discussion with Commissioner Brunner.
The event brought together students, alumni, and other guests of the Europa-Institut, highlighting the Institute's international character. We were particularly delighted to welcome back alumni from the LL.M. Class of 1995/96, who returned to Saarbrücken for their reunion. In addition to attending the event, they took the opportunity to revisit the Institute and connect with current students.
At a reception held afterward in the Europa-Institut's library, the discussions continued in an informal setting. Students and alumni exchanged views on current European issues, shared personal experiences, and established new connections.
The Europa-Institut extends its sincere thanks to Commissioner Magnus Brunner for his visit and to all guests, students, and alumni who contributed to the success of the event.
