Students enrolled at the Europa-Institut of Saarland University have access to the holdings of our institute library and the Saarland University and State Library via VPN.

The team at the Europa-Institut library will be there to help you with any questions you may have.

Discover the campus on a tour on YouTube, a 360 degree recording or interactively via app! Here you can find all further information.

The courses are held in English or German and conclude with a written or oral examination. Credit points are awarded for almost all courses. A total of at least 45 credit points must be earned in the study program. Another 15 credit points are awarded for the Master's thesis, resulting in a total of 60 credit points.

The team at the Europa-Institut offers regular consultation hours and additional individual consultation appointments to help you organize your studies.

On the Moodle platform of Saarland University, all materials (videos, literature, etc.) as well as information on the organizational structure are provided for each course.

Exams are on-campus exams. You will be informed in good time about the organization of the respective exam.

Here you can find an overview of all the possibilities for eating, drinking and shopping on campus.

There are a large number of options for eating and drinking on campus during the week. In addition to the large Mensa with a wide range of lunch and dinner options, there is the so-called Sportlermensa as well as many smaller cafés and cafeterias. The campus also has a campus market where you can buy food and drinks.

The Mensa and the Mensacafé are located in building D 4.1. The prices depend on the dish (starting at around €1.80). In a so-called free-flow area, you can choose between dishes from a wok and grill station, a salad bar, a drinks station and other stations where you can help yourself. There is a choice of five different meals every day. These meals include a meat-free dish, a fish dish, a low-fat dish and an inexpensive plate dish. There is also a complete menu and a vegetarian menu.

The course program of the Master's degree program is offered entirely in English, but some selected courses can also be taken in German. Students can therefore decide whether they want to complete their studies entirely in English or in a combination of English and German.

With its series of publications and ZEuS (Zeitschrift für Europarechtliche Studien), the Europa-Institut offers a forum for the publication of conference papers, dissertations and outstanding master's theses. In this way, the Europa-Institut supports students in their research work and supports their publications.

The Europa-Institut offers a German course (various levels) that is integrated into the curriculum of the Master's program. This means that there is no overlap with other lectures at the Europa-Institut. You will receive further information on this at the introduction event on the first day of your studies.

The Internationales Studienzentrum Saar (ISZ Saar) at Saarland University offers German courses to prepare you for your studies in Germany. The courses are offered to international students, university applicants, university graduates and anyone interested in the German language. There is also the opportunity to take various language courses at Saarland University's Language Center. There is a wide range of language courses for beginners and advanced learners. The courses are offered during the semester for a maximum of two to four hours and are free of charge for all students enrolled at Saarland University. In addition, intensive courses are offered for some languages in March and September, which are time-intensive and not free of charge.
