Foreign Direct Investment Seminar

On 8 Feburary 2024, the "Foreign Direct Investment Seminar" organized by Latham & Watkins in cooperation with the Europa-Institut and the Jean Monnet Chair for International Dispute Resolution and the Rule of Law of Prof. Dr. Marc Bungenberg took place in Frankfurt.

The seminar brought together practitioners from various fields as well as academics. In addition to current developments in the area of inbound investment screening in France, Italy and Switzerland, the current developments in German investment screening were also discussed. The Chinese perspective on European industrial policy was also presented. After the lunch break, the topics of potential outbound investment screening and the recently enacted Foreign Subsidies Regulation were discussed.
