Deutschlandstipendium
Deutschlandstipendien are awarded as part of a funding program of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Half of the scholarship is funded by the government and half by private sponsors. By co-financing these scholarships, the government aims to contribute to the establishment of a scholarship culture in Germany.
Scholarship holders receive 300 euros per month for one year. Saarland University awards the Deutschlandstipendien annually with the support of the StudienStiftungSaar, for which students in the Master's program at the Europa-Institut can also apply.
Every year, our alumni association EVER e.V. supports the so-called "Deutschlandstipendium" (Germany scholarship) for students in the Master's Program in European and International Law at the Europa-Institut. Deutschlandstipendien are financed half by the German government and half by a private sponsor. They are awarded for 1 year and students receive 300 Euros per month. Named scholarship in honor of Prof. Dr. Torsten Stein
The Europa-Institut, together with students, former and current directors and employees as well as friends and supporters of the institute, initiated a Deutschlandstipendium in honor of the long-time director Prof. Dr. Torsten Stein. The "Deutschlandstipendium Torsten Stein" supports talented and committed students at the Europa-Institut and honors Professor Stein's many years of commitment to the Europa-Institut.

Named scholarship in honor of Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Georg Ress
On the occasion of the 85th birthday of Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Georg Ress, the Europa-Institut, together with students and friends of Georg Ress, former and current directors and employees of the Europa-Institut and with the help of private sponsors, has initiated a Deutschlandstipendium in honor of the long-serving director. This scholarship is intended to honor his many years of commitment to the Institute.

Awards for students
The Europa-Institut receives a total of three awards from different donors.

Hans-Werner-Osthoff-Prize
The Hans-Werner-Osthoff-Prize is awarded each year to the student with the best Master's thesis. The prize money of 1,500 euros supports the best graduates, especially when they start their careers. The Osthoff Foundation was founded in 1990 as a special fund of Saarland University and supports outstanding young academics at the Europa-Institut.

Arno-Krause-Prize
The Arno-Krause-Prize of the ASKO Europa-Stiftung is awarded each year to one or two teams for participation in international competitions such as the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot or EuroSim, a simulation of European decision processes. The prize is endowed with 1,500 Euros.
European Prize of the Villa Lessing
The European Prize of the Villa Lessing - Liberale Stiftung Saar is aimed at students of the Europa-Institut from the fields of law and economics who deal with the development of economics and law in Europe in their Master's thesis. The Master's thesis should generally deal with the strengthening of freedom and competition in Europe, European integration on a liberal basis, the strengthening of European civil society and the position of citizens in European unification. The up to three prizes awarded each year by the Villa Lessing are endowed with 1,500 euros each.
